Year 4 visit Belchamps
The children enjoyed two fabulous days at Belchamps. Having woken on the Thursday to rain clouds, we were thankful that the sun came out before we set off. On arrival children were introduced to the staff and their various accommodation blocks. After lunch children took part in their first activity. Over the two days children took part in four activities which helped them to solve problems and work as a team. Caving, traversing the climbing wall, assault course and crate stack were popular as was fire building, pedal cart racing and shelter building. Team building, push ball, geocaching and mini cross-bows made up the activity selection. After a delicious evening meal children gathered around a roaring campfire. The children joined in with a range of songs that no doubt will be repeated for years to come. Having sung their hearts out and 'danced like zombies', they were rewarded with a drink and snack before returning to their rooms to find their beds. A quiet night ensued and in the morning they awoke and packed eager for the day's activities. Breakfast was followed by a fun packed morning which meant completing two more activities before lunch and a shop-visit. With a little time left to play on the field the coaches had soon arrived to take us back to school - shattered!
