Christmas Carol Church Service

Over 200 children from West Leigh Junior School presented an outstanding celebration of Christmas at their annual Carol Service at St Margaret’s Church. Pupils from every class told the Christmas story in words and song to a huge congregation of staff, family and friends. Alex Blackstone-Cobbe set the tone of the evening with a superb solo verse introducing ‘Once in Royal David’s City’ which is the traditional way to begin our Christmas service. The Boys’ Choir sang ‘ Christmas Songs of Joy’ and ‘Glory to God in the Highest’ whilst the Girls’ Choir treated us to ‘Scots Nativity’ and ‘I believe in Christmas’. Congratulations to all our professional readers, ably coached by Mrs Burt. Thank you to Miss Revill and Mrs Rodgers for preparing the tableau actors and costumes with such care. Our sincere thanks also must go to Mrs Walker and Mrs Gentleman for their energy and musicianship. Well done!
