Year 6 Rugby Champions!

On Wednesday, twelve of our Year 6 pupils took part in the mixed rugby competition at Southend Rugby Club, competing against 15 schools from across the area. It was a fantastic day of rugby, with the team showing skill, determination and excellent teamwork from the very first whistle. In the morning session, we faced Thorpe Hall, Fairways, St Mary’s and Chalkwell, winning all four of our matches. This took us through to the Super 10s, where we continued our winning run against Earls Hall, Hamstel, St Mary’s and Prince Avenue – securing another four victories. The team then progressed to the semi-final, where they put in another outstanding performance to beat Our Lady of Lourdes 5–2. This set up a final against Hamstel, where the team saved their best until last, securing an impressive 7–2 victory! Played 10, won 10! The team were outstanding throughout the competition, demonstrating excellent team play, formidable tagging and slick passing. Their hard work and determination certainly paid off, and we are incredibly proud of their achievement. Well done to everyone involved – we can’t wait to see you represent us at the Essex Finals in February!
