Yr 5 explore local areas

On Wednesday 25th Sept, once the Danbury children had gone, we walked to Belfairs Woods. Mrs Atkin provided a range of challenges for the children, including finding the ‘best souvenir of the day’. The children all had fun collecting the various items on Mrs Atkin’s list. They enjoyed playing on the wooden play equipment too. On Thursday 26th Sept, we all got on the bus to Hadleigh Farm. Despite the rain, the children loved looking at and feeding all the animals. The baby goats were a particular favourite!! We devised an assault course around the play area, which all the children took part in with enthusiasm. After lunch, we went to Hadleigh Castle to fly kites and play with bats and balls. It was very windy but it did not stop us from enjoying ourselves. We decided to walk all the way back to school. On Friday 27th, we stayed in school for the morning and did some cooking in the Year 6 kitchen. The children cooked pizzas, cookies and smoothies. We then enjoyed them as we watched a movie during lunchtime. When our food had gone down, we walked to Leigh Beach where we collected shells, buried each other in the sand, played games and had an ice cream. A very tired group of children and adults walked back to school!!!! Overall, a good time was had by everyone.
