Kwik Cricket

On Monday 1st July nine year 6 girls entered the Kwik Cricket, Essex finals held at Billericay Cricket club. It was a very warm day and 13 schools played. The standard was extremely high this year; we lost our first game to James Oglethorpe School from Upminster. We played much better in our second game against St Nicholas School from Shenfield and with better bowling managed to win this game. We regrouped in the afternoon and played St Mary’s Chelmsford who had some very good bowlers and unfortunately lost this game. Finally we played Edward Francis school from Rayleigh, with some improved batting we finished on a good score but were beaten by some excellent fielding. The girls thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being on the excellent playing surface and should be very proud of their achievements, a big well done to all of them.
