Boys' Football vs. Hamstel Junior School

On Monday 29th January, Mr Nash and Miss Fletcher travelled to Hamstel Junior School with the boys’ football team to play their second league game of the season and a friendly.

In the league game, the boys played a superb game of football with both teams applying pressure throughout; there were some close shots at goal with some great saves from both keepers. At the end of the first half, the score was West Leigh 1-0 Hamstel. In the second half, the boys continued to push forward but struggled to find a way past Hamstel’s defenders, In the last few minutes of the game, the boys managed to break through to score two more goals. With the final whistle blown, the game finished West Leigh 3-0 Hamstel.

In the friendly, the boys played very well together communicating with each other throughout the game which helped them find space and pass the ball into the space, and earning them the win. Hamstel’s keeper produced some brilliant saves throughout the game and their defenders worked tirelessly to prevent the boys making their way into the box.
