Boys' Football vs. Prince Avenue

On Monday 3rd December, the boys’ football team traveled to Prince Avenue Primary School to play their first league match of the season. The boys continued their good form from the previous tournaments applying pressure from the kickoff and getting a goal in the first 5 minutes. Prince Avenue then continued to apply strong defensive skills and managed to find a gap, getting a shot at goal, bringing the score to 1-1. The boys kept their focus and continued to press for the remaining minutes of the first half. The whistle was blown to indicate half-time.

In the second half, the boys played with confidence making some great crosses and had a number of shots at goal with a couple hitting the post. A few minutes passed and the boys found some space got a shot at goal and hit the back of the net bringing the score to 2-1. The boys once again kept up their attacking pressure along with some great tackles. The boys pressed up the pitch and managed to get another shot on target and slipped the ball past the keeper. With only a few minutes left on the clock, the boys played with great confidence keeping possession of the ball. The final whistle was blown with the final result West Leigh 3-1 Prince Avenue.

The boys played very well and demonstrated great strength, control and confidence when playing, along with great sportsmanship throughout the game. The boys should feel very confident when approaching the rest of their upcoming league matches.
