Handball Competition

West Leigh's first ever handball squad competed in the Southend competition on Wednesday! Up against some very experienced handball teams, West Leigh were competitive in each of their matches. The team grew in confidence throughout the morning and there was some fantastic goalkeeping on display from Violet Harris. The team were denied their first ever handball win when Bournes Green scored with the last throw of the game, meaning the match finished 2-2. West Leigh were defeated in their other four matches but should be proud of their efforts. We are hoping the rest of the school will be inspired to take up handball next year!
