Cross-Country Essex Finals

On Wednesday, children from West Leigh competed in the Cross-Country Essex Finals. These children qualified for the finals earlier in the year at the Southend event. They showed great grit and determination in their races against some of the best long-distance runners in the county. We were proud to see all of the children run to the best of their ability and we now have an Essex champion girl in Year 3! Congratulations to Honor Burrows.

Our Year 3 boys', Year 4 boys' and Year 5 girls' teams all finished 1st as a team. Our Year 6 boys' team finished in 2nd place and Year 4 girls' team in 5th place. Some children qualified as individuals for the event and ran fantastically! A huge well done to all of their children for their hard work. We look forward to seeing more children at the cross-country trials in September!
