Year 3/4 Boys' Football
On Friday 26th January, our year 3/4 boys’ football team competed in a football tournament at the Len Forge Centre. With 16 schools taking part, they were split into 4 groups of 4 with 3 games to play - the top two making it through to the super 8s.
After completing their three games and a tense wait for the results, the boys made it through as runners up of their group on goal difference:
West Leigh 4-0 Earls Hall
West Leigh 0-0 St. Helens
West Leigh 1-2 Heycroft
After a refuel, the team went on to play another seven games in the afternoon. Their defence and attack was tireless. By the end, the results were as follows:

West Leigh 3-0 Thorpedene

With all the games played, the teams were called together to find out where they had finished. Our boys waited intently before finding out they'd finished 1st! The whole team put in a fantastic effort in every game, demonstrating their team work, individual skills and incredible sportsmanship throughout the day.
