KS2 Girls Cricket competition

On Tuesday 30th April, eight year 6 girls entered the KS2 Girls Cricket competition at Garons. We hadn’t had much practice playing on the grass so we were unsure of the different playing surface. Our first game against Fairways was a big learning curve for us and unfortunately we lost by 30 runs. Our second game against Thorpedene was better and we won by 27 runs. The final game in our group was against Earls Hall and by now we were getting the hang of the rules! We won this by 19 runs.

We went into the semi-final against Bournes Green which we won by 16 runs. The final was against Chalkwell who have won the competition many times ,it was a very close game, with some excellent batting and bowling skills being demonstrated. Unfortunately we lost by two runs, but both teams qualify for the Essex finals which will be played on the 1st July in Billericay, well done girls!
