‘Memphis’ at Westcliff High School for Girls

On Monday 12th March, Year 6 attended a preview performance of Westcliff High School for Girls’ production of the musical ‘Memphis’. With a story based around the segregation of people due to the colour of their skin in America in the mid-twentieth century, the show certainly was thought-provoking for our pupils. The year group certainly enjoyed the production based on their reactions and their behaviour from the moment they left West Leigh to the moment they returned was a credit to our school. It was also lovely to see past pupils in the role of prefects at WHSG as well as on stage including a fantastic performance from the leading man. Perhaps we will see one of our current Year 6 pupils on stage when we visit in the future!
