Year 5/6 girls' football team Southend Primary School Sports Association Girls' Football Com
The Year 5 and 6 girls' football team competed in the Southend Primary School Sports Association Girls' Football Competition on Friday 19th October 2018. The day started off with the group stage, the girls got off to a great start, with 3 wins and 1 draw, putting us on equal points with Fairways bringing it down to goal difference, the girls had done enough to put themselves top of the group and into the super 5’s.

West Leigh 3-0 Bournemouth Park
After a short break the girls played another 4 games. Continuing their form with another two wins. The next game the girls went 0-1 down to Fairways, but manage to stay calm and focused to bring it back to a 1-1 draw. The girls had one game left to play before finding out if they had done enough to win the competition. They put in all their effort and focused on the game ahead, which the final whistle blown the last game finished 3-0.

After all five teams finished their games a whistle was blown to call everyone over for the medal presentation, all five schools waited in anticipation to find out how they did. The girls’ had done enough to win the competition and to go on and represent Southend at the Essex finals in November.
The girls put in an incredible performance throughout the day with superb sportsmanship and behaviour and should feel confident when approaching their upcoming league fixtures and Essex’s final.
