Growing seeds

The children of our key workers had great fun planting seeds to be grown in the garden of Portico House a few weeks ago. These together with pots and compost, were very generously donated to all of the Portico Academy schools by David Cooper, the owner of Potash Garden Centre in Hawkwell. Peas, beetroot and a variety of herbs and flowers were carefully sown into pots, and diligently watched and watered. Luckily there were some successes and once the seedlings were big enough they were planted out into the garden. Fingers crossed that we'll be able to sample some fresh garden produce soon.
