Yr 3/4 Tag Rugby competition

On Wednesday 20th March, two,Year 4 Tag Rugby teams played in the year 3/4 Tag Rugby competition at Southend Rugby Club. Our first game against Chalkwell we won 4-2, we went on to play Temple Sutton and Barons Court and beat both with the same score of 9-1! We went through to the Super 10’s where we played Temple Sutton again and won 7-1, Bournes Green and won 4-2 and St Michaels and won 4-0. We had a very close game against Earls Hall which went into extra time and eventually we won 5-4. We were through to the semi-finals where we played Greenways and again a very close game which we won 8-6. We were in the final (against Chalkwell again)all the children had tried so hard and played so well all day and unfortunately lost 4-3. We were all covered in mud and thoroughly exhausted but earned a well deserved silver medal. Well done to both teams who enjoyed the experience of playing on the grass!

The B team had four games to play in the group stages; they got off to a good start by winning the first game. Then they had a very close match against Greenways, just missing out by 1 point. The team remained positive and played with smiles on their faces for the next two match, which unfortunately they lost. However, it was not all over as they still had a number of friendly matches to play after lunch. The team re grouped and managed to win all three matches. The whole team played superbly and demonstrated great sportsmanship throughout the day.
