Sports Hall Athletics

On Monday 4th March and Tuesday 5th March, West Leigh competed in both the Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 Sportshall Athletics, with Year 3/4 on the Monday afternoon and Year 5/6 on the Tuesday afternoon.

With both tournaments consisting of six track events and six field events, the athletes were only allowed to compete in a maximum of two track and two field events. Whilst the track events were happening, all the children were able to watch and cheer on their fellow teammates. At the same time, the field events were taking place at the back of the hall. All the children involved did an incredible job demonstrating great listening skills, behaviour and sportsmanship.

When the events are finished and the results are calculated, all the schools are called to sit in front of the results table to find out how they have done.

Year 3/4 scored 1248 to finish 4th.

Year 5/6 scored 1324 to finish 3rd.
