Quick sticks hockey Essex finals

Wow, what a week of sport we have had! On Wednesday, six Year 6 children were invited to play in the quick sticks hockey Essex finals held at Chelmsford Hockey Club. There were 22 schools present, it was extremely hot and we were the only school representing Southend. In the morning we played schools called Barnes Farm, Cathedral, Mildmay B, Westlands and Moulsham. We didn't lose a single game and we finished top of our group. We re-grouped in the afternoon and played Mildmay A drawing 1-1 and then we lost our first game to last year's winners, St Thomas's from Brentwood. We still had one more game to play against Perryfields which we won 5-0 to place us in the silver medal position! A fantastic outcome and a fantastic day. The children were all outstanding and thoroughly deserved their silver medals - it was an excellent result. Well done and a big thank you to all the parents for their help and encouragement.
