On Monday 18th October, four very lucky children represented West Leigh at a ten-pin bowling event at Hollywood Bowl in Basildon. All of the children achieved impressive individual scores which were then combined to make a team total. This morning our new playground squad, made up of Year 5 pupils, carried out their training to ensure that they were ready to begin their new role on Monday. Music Workshop with Together
Our Year 6 choir members enjoyed a creative music workshop, organised by Southend Choirs and composer Kerry Andrew. (One of Kerry’s previous compositions is one of the ‘BBC Ten Pieces’.) Cross Country
On Wednesday 29th September, West Leigh Junior School participated in the cross country competition at Garon Park. 24 schools participated in the KS2 competition with up to six boys and six girls running from each year group. The competition started with our Year 3 girls' team and finished with our Year 6 boys' team, with around 150 children running in each race.
