Science Quiz Semi Finals

The team worked incredibly hard at the regional science quiz semi finals. Competing against 16 teams all from private schools within the region. We got off to a slow start however managed to overtake much of the competition getting to 5th place with only the final round left to compete. The team used their tactics and managed to finish in 4th place with a huge score of 1725points. A fantastic competition at an extremely high level. The team should be incredibly proud of their achievement. #Wholeschool #Year5

Inter-generational poppy making afternoon

The school council were invited to take part in an inter-generational poppy making afternoon at West Leigh Baptist Church on Wednesday 6thNovember. A large number of people from the local community attended the event, and the children enjoyed meeting new people from different generations and hearing stories about the local area and their school in the past. They worked together to make some beautiful poppies that will be used in the church’s Remembrance Sunday display. Many of the adults at the event commented on the exemplary behaviour and manners of the children who attended. #Year5 #Year3 #Year6 #Year4 #Wholeschool

Yr 5/6 Tag Rugby B Competition

Yesterday 8 boys and 4 girls from years 5 and 6 entered the the Tag Rugby B competition at Southend Rugby club. We hadn’t played together as a team before and this was a great learning curve for us. In our first game we played Hamstel A team and unfortunately lost 8-4. We re-grouped and played St.Michael's A team and won 10-9. We then went on to play Greenways and won 12-6. With the ground becoming very muddy our final game was against Prince Avenue which we just lost 10-8. The children enjoyed the experience of playing on the grass and improved as the morning went on. Well done to all of them. #Year6 #Wholeschool #Year5 #sports
