Boys' Football vs. Prince Avenue

On Monday 3rd December, the boys’ football team traveled to Prince Avenue Primary School to play their first league match of the season. The boys continued their good form from the previous tournaments applying pressure from the kickoff and getting a goal in the first 5 minutes. Prince Avenue then continued to apply strong defensive skills and managed to find a gap, getting a shot at goal, bringing the score to 1-1. Carol singing at Leigh Station

Choirs from local schools are joining with Southend in Sight this Christmas to help raise funds for the local charity. The West Leigh Junior School choir were in very fine voice on Monday 4 December when they joined staff and volunteers from local sight loss charity Southend in Sight to sing carols for commuters. More than 30 children from West Leigh Junior School together with music teacher Miss Fisher and Headteacher Mr Lear, paid a visit to Leigh-on-Sea station on Monday evening to sing a selection of favourite carols and raise money for Southend in Sight. Year 5/6 Essex County Schools FA Under-11s Boys’ 7-a-side Cup

On Thursday 29th November, the Boys’ football team traveled to Melbourne Park in Chelmsford to compete in the Essex County Schools FA Under-11s Boys’ 7-a-side Cup. The competition brought together the 16 best teams from all over Essex so the standard of competition was going to be high. The afternoon started with the group stages with 3 games to play: each game being 6 minutes both ways. The boys also had the added challenge of playing with a strong wind blowing across the pitch. Year 6 Dodgeball

On Wednesday 28th November, the school dodgeball teams traveled to Garons Tennis and Leisure Centre with Mr Nash and Miss Fletcher to take part in a multi-school dodgeball event. The day was split into two parts: one team attending the festival in the morning and the other team attending in the afternoon for a competitive tournament. In the morning, the festival team had the opportunity to play a number of dodgeball games with a range of different schools. With four games scheduled, they unfortunately lost the first two games.
