Girls' Football vs Temple Sutton

On Friday 19th January, Mr Nash and Mrs Mitchinson travelled to Temple Sutton Primary School with the girls’ football team to play in their second league game of the season. The girls got off to a great start, pushing forward, applying pressure and demonstrating great defensive skills. With the first half finishing West Leigh 2-0 Temple Sutton. The girls continued their form throughout the second half. Temple Sutton managed to get a shot at goal and score off the post making the score 2-1. The girls remained focused on the game in hand and scored a further 2 goals. With the final whistle blown the game finished West Leigh 4-1 Temple Sutton.

Girls' Football vs. Hamstel Junior School

On Friday 12th January, Mr Nash and Miss Fletcher travelled to Hamstel Junior School with the girls’ football team to play their first league game of the season and a friendly. In the league game the girls pushed forward with a number of shots going wide and some great saves from the goalkeeper with the first half ending 0-0. In the second half the girls continued to apply pressure and push forward this time managing to score. With the final whistle blown the game finished West Leigh 1-0 Hamstel. Basketball tournament

On Wednesday 10th January, Mrs Denison and Mr Nash travelled to Shoebury Leisure Centre with the school basketball team. The team made up of 4 girls and 6 boys. The team got off to a great start in the group stage, winning their first 2 games. In the third game they drew, bring it down to the last game to decide who would go through to the semi finals as the winners or runners up, the team kept calm to win the last game to go through as the winners of the group.
