Sports round up

With the wetter weather setting in, a few of our sporting events have had to be cancelled, but the ones we have taken part in have been a great experience for our teams with many of them coming away winners. Our Girls’ Football team played two friendly matches against Thorpedene Primary in November. Our A team triumphed with a 3-0 victory. It was their first game since playing in the tournament at the Len Forge Centre. The training they have had recently paid off as they recorded their biggest win to date with a fine defensive performance. Our B team also put on a superb defensive performance and took possession of the ball a number of times but sadly didn’t quite manage to score the goal th

Christmas Carol Service

Last night we had a beautiful send off into the Christmas holidays with our annual Christmas Carol service at St Margaret’s Church. The Girls’ and Boys’ choirs and our recorder groups took the congregation through a collection of wonderfully sung traditional Christmas Carol, the tableau took us through the Christmas story and the choral speakers added to the whole event. This year we brought the service into the 21st century and our readers delivered modern readings, which were hopefully a little easier for the children to relate to and understand. The readings were all spoken beautifully and clearly. As always the church was packed to the rafters with parents, grandparents and siblings, who

Year 4 Roman presentation

As their ‘Roman’ topic comes to an end, the Year 4 children worked incredibly hard to put together a brilliant presentation for their parents and the whole school to showcase what they had learnt about the Romans. The presentation included singing, dancing and acting as the children took their captive audience through the facts of the Roman times and the life of Boudica who they have studied in depth. The children had made Roman shields which were put to the test during the battle scenes in the show. Everyone performed beautifully and confidently. Well done Year 4. #Year4

Science Roadshow

Today was the last our our Year 5 Science workshops which have been enjoyed for the past four week. The workshops were set up and ran by students at Westcliff High School for Girls. Each week a different Year 5 class worked with the high school students who created a number of different experiments for the children to take part in. They were also given a workbook to complete during their session. #Year5
